Dan Serra, CFP®, counsels individuals, families and business owners and develops, implements and monitors their financial plans.

Dan completed the Certified Financial Planner Professional Education Program at the College for Financial Planning in Denver, where he is currently completing his Masters Degree in Personal Financial Planning, and received his Bachelors from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

He joined Strategic Financial Planning in Plano, Texas in 2008, and previously was an advisor for a private investment manager in Colorado Springs, Colo. Dan followed his passion into a full-time career as a certified financial planner after spending more than 15 years as a business and finance  journalist with daily newspapers in Florida, Texas and Colorado. He continues to write a national syndicated personal finance column for the McClatchy-Tribune News Service.

 Dan is a member of the Financial Planning Association where he serves on the Technology Committee for the FPA of Dallas/Fort Worth and previusly on the board of directors for the Southern Colorado chapter. He is also the creator of the “SIMPLE Life Success Strategy™,” a unique approach to financial planning that helps people lead a fulfilling life.

He and his wife devote most of their free time to educating and entertaining their two inquisitive red-headed toddlers. In addition to family activities, they enjoy outdoor recreation, sports, cultural activities, gardening and being involved with their church and other community programs.
